Merchant is pleased to present L.A. based artist Raina Lee  to launch our first exhibiting Artist Series " In The Window" of 2025. Raina Lee is a second generation Taiwanese- American artist and writer based in Los Angeles. She is well known in the community for her iconic glazes and ceramic sculptures as well as her tree house studio located here in Los Angeles.

 

Raina works primarily in ceramic glaze and clay, her practice is in conversation with classical ceramics as well as painting. Her use of painterly compositions with extreme colors, volcanic textures, crackly finishes take the viewer into another dimension, referencing landscapes and places she travels to. She works on a range of forms, classical Chinese and Greek vessels, extruded 3D printed ceramic reliefs, and slab glaze paintings. Raina has exhibited her work all over the world and been featured in The New York Times: T Magazine, Surface Magazine, and MilK Decoration.

 

Merchant Modern East is excited to exhibit this collection of ceramics, from outside of "the window" and within the shop floor. All  artworks are  listed on our website and available for shipping by request.
